< Cormorant fishing >

Ukai is unique way of fishing with large black seabirds called u (cormorant).

This fishing, which has a history of more than 1,200 years,

is now practiced in several parts of Japan only as a tourist attraction.

The cormorant, after receiving two or three years' training, can dive into

the water, catch any sweet fish and return to their master to give away their

catches without awallowing them.
